Project Manager
Location: Chicagoland Area
Position Overview
Mazur & Son is an established 75 year old commercial Construction Manager/General Contractor serving primarily in the education space as well as church and commercial buildings. The candidate must be a leader with strong interpersonal and management skills. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success of the project. This candidate will be the overall lead for the entire day to day construction team including subcontractors, consultants, owners and the project superintendent. The project manager is the primary contact/lead starting at project conception until substantial completion.
Primary Responsibilities
- Building lasting relationships with architects and clients for future work
- Estimate future work by engaging subcontractor input
- Create project schedule for contract implementation
- Participate in all preconstruction activities/meetings
- Write scopes of work, negotiate and award subcontracts
- Provide budgetary pricing for potential projects
- Manage budget/cost throughout the project and provide consistent updates to the owner
- Manage and ensure that all subcontractors are meeting schedule/critical path items
- Provide the main line of communication between owner/architect and subcontractors
- Manage the job with organization and consistent structure
- Lead weekly job meetings with the owner/architect and relevant subcontractors
- Create a positive and fair work environment
Skills/ Abilities
- Proficiency in understanding construction documents.
- Proficiency in scheduling
- Knowledge of MEP Systems
- Proficiency in all Microsoft office Suite, Scheduling, and Procore
- Ability to be extremely organized and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to proactively anticipate, recognize and resolve problems
- Ability to work well under pressure while keeping composure
- Ability to present at project interviews
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
